Our Mission
We believe that going grey should be a choice, not a verdict. For too long, society has framed grey hair as something to fix — a sign of age, decline, or surrender. We see it differently.
Going Grey is a non-profit movement dedicated to changing the conversation about natural hair, ageing, and identity. We fund research, support communities, and tell the stories that don't get told.
What we stand for
Acceptance. Grey hair is not a problem to be solved. It is a stage of life to be welcomed on its own terms.
Science. We support honest, peer-reviewed research into the biology of hair pigmentation and how lifestyle, stress, and genetics shape it.
Community. The transition can feel lonely. We build spaces — online and in person — where people can share what it actually feels like to grow it out.
Representation. The grey-haired people you see in advertising are still mostly playing grandparents. We want the full picture: founders, athletes, artists, parents, partners, everyone.
Where the money goes
We commit to keeping at least 80 cents of every dollar in programs: research grants, community grants, and storytelling. The rest covers the operational costs of running the organisation.
If our work resonates with you, please consider donating. Every contribution moves the cause forward.
